I've been part of the WOW! Corporate Marketing team since March 2003. WOW! is unlike any other company I've been part of and I feel fortunate that I've been given the opportunity to be part of this team.
As the Editor for the Voices of WOW! category, it's my role to bring you relevant information as well as to help share
WOW! Moments

It’s always an interesting perspective when I sit along side one of our Customer Care Reps or ride along with a technician. It really helps me appreciate all they do for our customers, and helps me to get a better understanding of how I can support them. Last week, I had the opportunity to walk along with one of our door-to-door sales reps (yes, we sell Cable/Internet/Phone door-to-door!). It was an interesting experience to see what they do on a daily basis. And I always appreciate spending time with our customers.
It’s true we have such a unique culture here at WOW!. This is a great insight into our culture. And how many readers out there have ever been hugged by their CEO? You summed up Colleen and her hugs perfectly.
We also have a simple tutorial on our website that explains How To Read Your Bill, which can be found here: http://www1.wowway.com/HowToReadYourBill/
Sounds like a rough exercise you and the team went through, but I agree with you on “the only bad thing that can come of it is if you don’t use the feedback to work on getting better.”
This is a great example of the WOW! culture and how it extends outside of our daily jobs into the public.
There are lots of great returning shows and some new ones that look quite promising, too. I know Libby will be writing about the upcoming Fall season soon, so keep checking back.
I heard “The Hof” might be on the show (David Hasslehoff).
I’m answering this for Steve Stanfill as he’s out on vacation. Thanks for reposting and apologies for missing this the first time. We are actively pursuing enhancements to our services but unfortunately I can’t share details or expected timing yet. We’ll share more news as it becomes available here on the blog. Thanks for your patience as we work to improve your DVR experience.
Rich – I was told from our Tech group that the changes are complete and you are experiencing what you should / will experience going forward.
Great post, Bill. And thanks to you, too, for having served.
Dave – Steve Stanfill, our Tech Editor is on vacation, so I reached out to our IT group. Here’s what I heard back regarding your question:
Currently the Motorola 6580 does have issues working on our network. We have purchased a couple of modems and are testing them in our labs. We hope to have them operational as soon as possible. Through our research we have learned these modems have configuration issues with cable operators throughout the US. We hope to be one of the few to have them fully operational.
Steve – what a heartfelt, touching blog article. Thank you for sharing this story with your readers. Happy Holidays.
Sherry, thanks for all your contributions as our Culture Editor this past year. Readers, while this is Sherry’s last article, the Culture Category will be folded into a new category called “Voices of WOW!” This category will debut on Friday, 12/17, so please check back!
Great article! I finally viewed 3D TV for the first time last week (at Costco!) and I have to say, it was pretty interesting. While I can’t see myself wearing glasses to watch TV (and I’ve still not seen a 3D movie yet), I think this technology feature will be interesting to watch over the coming years both in terms of development and making the technology more accessible, as well as what content is really even available to watch on TVs down the road.
