  1. Do you happen to know if the new build-out in University Heights, OH supports DOCSIS 3.0?

  2. I see you mention “WOW! has a number of technologies in the lab which will allow ‘whole house DVR’”. Do you have any updates on this? I just switched over to WOW (I’ve been patiently waiting 5 years for service in my community since parts of my zip code have had service for years) and I am trying to decide if I should build my own DVR, get a Tivo, or just be patient and use the SA box until WOW comes out with something better. Thanks!

  3. Two thumbs up! Count me in as excited that WOW is going all digital.

  4. Excellent post. Although it brings me to something I can’t stand about Apple, and that’s that they act like everything they do is “revolutionary” when in fact most of it is “evolutionary” (especially the iPad 2).

Speaking of evolving…any word yet on a new DVR? I’d really love to be able to share shows between TVs in my house and I thought there was some news on the way about something like this being in the works.

  5. Awesome, thanks for the info. I have been close to getting the Ceton card and building my own Windows Media Center system, but I’d rather just lease one from you guys if there’s one coming relatively soon.

  6. I second the others who would prefer more upload speed over more download speed. I would rather have 20/10 over 30/5.

However, I currently have 8/1 and even with that speed I rarely find myself wishing my connection was faster.

What’s MUCH more exciting to me is the whole house DVR system!

  7. Where’s the Like button?!?!

This is pretty much exactly what I was hoping WOW would roll out. Great work, guys!

Steve, can an external hard drive be used for extra DVR storage space or just “other” media?

  8. I have had Ultra TV for about a month now and it has been great. I have had no issue with RDP, VPN, etc. or with scheduling shows remotely. Everything has been fantastic except for one minor glitch where for about a half hour everything was extremely unresponsive (like 30 seconds to change a channel or open the guide or any other action) but then things went right back to behaving normally.

I do have one question about the remote, however. Is it possible to change the input on the TV with the remote? This seems like one feature that is lacking, as the only functions of the TV most people would need are the power, volume, and input buttons. I’d hate to have to keep the TV remote out just for the input button.
