Benefits: The WOW! Way

Benefits: The WOW! Way1.051

I don’t know about you but I am very nervous about the Health Care Reforms being discussed and implemented.  As the beneficiary of a company that provides great benefits to its employees, I am leery of my coverages being compromised in quality and level of care, reduced by requiring larger co-pays, or becoming taxable as part of my income.  (There’s a scary thought!)

One of the great things about WOW! is the traditionally exceptional level of benefits provided by the company.  We have a preferred-provider health plan that lets us choose our doctors and there are two versions of the plan.  The maximum out-of-pocket cost under both plans is less than most companies’ upfront deductible.  We have dental coverage, vision coverage, company-paid life and accidental death/dismemberment policies.  We have company-paid short-term and long-term disability.  We can shelter medical and dependent care expenses in a pre-tax Flexible Savings Plan.  We save for retirement via a 401k plan.  After a year, WOW! will reimburse job-related tuition expenses up to $5000.  We start accruing vacation time on our first day of work, we get four personal holidays and seven company holidays per year.  WOW! allows employees to work a flexible schedule – meaning some employees have a 4 x 10 option and others can start earlier or later than 8am.  On top of all of this we have LOTS of opportunities for performance incentives, award and recognition programs and company events and celebrations.

We’re very fortunate, aren’t we?  The one thing I do know about WOW! and health care reform is this:  leadership at this company will make the best decisions possible on behalf of our employees and our business, AND any significant changes will be communicated in time for employees to plan accordingly.  I’m guessing there are a lot of hardworking people out there who can’t say that about their leadership teams.

WOW! employees have a benefits program that lives up to our name.
